The Sunday practices are now in the books. We had a shortened evening practice because of lightning. We only lost about eight minutes of team time so it wasn't to bad. But when the lightning strike was seen traveling across the clouds Coach Prescott decided it wasn't safe so he called practice. The kids and staff rushed off the field to the dorm.
Our next concern is the scrimmage on Monday morning. Forecast indicates chance of rain. We'll have to see what happens. The scrimmage is scheduled for 8:55 to 10:25. After the scrimmage there will be a meeting on the hill. Then the players will receive their evaluations before they go to the dorm to prepare their room for check out.
As soon as they clean up their room, shower, and pack the campers will have one of the coaches check their room to make sure everything is in order. As soon as they have the all clear from the coach, the coach will hand them a ticket if they give him the key that they were issued. Once they have the ticket they can proceed to the first floor commons and hand the ticket to Coach Copeland. Coach Copeland will give them their key deposit back. Once each coach has checked his assigned rooms and collected the keys he will bring them down to the first floor commons and turn the keys into Coach Kiechle who will check them off the list.
The coaches will then get their rooms ready and bring their keys down to Coach Kiechle. Once all of the keys have been returned the Coach Copeland, Coach Prescott, Coach Bridge, Coach DuBois and Coach Kiechle can then prepare to leave as well.
Thursday evening the five of us will return and to set up and continue preparing for Session Two. I say continue, because tonight we have finalized Session Two position list, camp team colors and names. We've also been working on Session two's practice plans and sequence. Coach Copeland and Coach Kiechle did some preliminary work for Session Three.
Have a good evening and I'll have more later.
